Each year, Ball FloraPlant flowers are trialed across North America for garden performance, success and appeal. At Young’s Plant Farm in Auburn, Alabama, several of our top introductions were put to the test this Summer. Our latest flower introductions and combinations performed exceptionally well in the heat and humidity of this region of the country.
Check out Territory Manager, Maria Bolinger, as she goes through the results of these new varieties for 2027 from the trial gardens:
Lantana Shamrock™ Cherry Sunrise is a beautiful rose and yellow bicolor, while Lantana Little Lucky™ Yellow is a nice and showy, compact variety.
Verbena Firehouse™ Violet Vortex is a great performer with a striking violet and white bicolor stripe. This flower is a winner in hanging baskets.
The Scaevola Blazen™ series features: Compact Blue, regular Blue, and White, which are nice and well-branched and have amazing performance in the ground and in containers.
Two new Coleus included in this year’s trial had a wonderful showing. Keylime Fringe with its chartreuse and green foliage and fringe leaf, while Prismatic is a mosaic burgundy with two-tone color.
Zonal Geranium Dynamo™ Pink Dazzle, which is a pink bicolor and offers a striking contrast of red and pink.
The combos that stood out in the trial from Ball FloraPlant included: MixMasters™ Lucky Charm 27, as well as MixMasters Hot Spell 27. The latter has been upgraded with a new lantana and has been showing great color in the heat.
