Lantana Lucky Red

Trials results from Colorado State University are in, and Ball FloraPlant is making the grade! Most notably, Lantana Lucky™ Red was named Best New Variety at this year’s Flower Trial Garden.

According to the judges, the Lucky Red flowers were “abundant and had many citrus tones but predominately noted for a good dark red. This plant was unique for combining both the red flower color with a very uniform growth habit. Blooming started early in the season and was noted that it doesn’t cycle in and out of flowering like other lantanas.”

Among the university’s 2016 “Best Of Class” annual winners, the following Ball FloraPlant plants were recognized:

Angelonia Archangel Dark Rose – “a lot of flower power”

Petunia ColorRush Pink – “broke through the heavy competition”

Verbena EnduraScape Pink Bicolor – “out-performed all other Verbenas for continuous flowering”

The university also found these varieties “Outstanding”:

Angelonia Archangel Cherry Red – “marks the entry of a new color class for angelonia”

Lantana Lucky Sunrise Rose – “excellent, dense growth habits and great vigor”
