ColorBlitz™ Petunia
  • Bicolor and solid color varieties match in vigor and habit.
  • Medium-vigor series is well-suited for gallon and larger production. The colors also make great additions to mixed containers, and are best for gallon and 12-in. (30-cm) hanging baskets. Early flowering.
  • Proven greenhouse performance under lower light and low-temperature production.
NEW Blue: Deep blue color does not fade in high light. Offers two weeks of additional flowering in the garden when compared to other blue petunias on the market.
NEW Red: Fills garden beds faster and in high-heat Summer conditions, it lasts 2 weeks longer in the garden than other medium-habit red petunias on the market.

Plant Growth Regulators (S) = spray / (D) = drench: B-Nine(S) 1,500-2,500 ppm, applied 2-4 times, can be used to control habit early. Bonzi(D) 0.25-1.0 ppm applied as crop matures will control final height but not delay flowering or reduce flower size.
      Pests: Whitefly, thrips, leafminers
Diseases: Botrytis, Root rot, Tobacco Mosaic Virus
Comments: Cool temperatures and high light will reduce need for PGRs. Monitor regularly for high pH and possible iron deficiency.

Product Launch and Assortment Manager

We have trialed ColorBlitz up against all other medium-vigor petunias and found it to be the most uniform of all. This makes growing it very simple.

West Region

ColorBlitz 12-in. (30-cm) baskets were successfully grown without PGRs. We held our transplanted basket in a greenhouse for 4 weeks with minimum night temperatures at 60°F (16°C). Once rooted in, we moved baskets to an outdoor tunnel with an average daily temperature of 50°F (10°C) and minimum night temperatures above 32°F (0°C).

Midwest, Canada and Northeast Region

Pinching 2 weeks after transplant will develop better branching habits when finishing 12-in. (30-cm) baskets. An application of 1 ppm Bonzi drench is recommended 3-4 weeks after transplant.

South and Southeast Region

ColorBlitz will make an excellent 12-in. (30-cm) basket with high light and cool nights. When night temperatures increase, we recommend a Bonzi drench at 2-4 ppm within 3-4 weeks after transplant to tone finished growth.
